What a great way to get a taste of one’s culture and heritage than to eat their food. Immerse oneself in a cozy country inn surrounded by trees and seven lakes. Experience the tradition, be a coconut baron for a day in Casa San Pablo a Bed and Breakfast in San Pablo City, Laguna.
It is a place for foodies. Since it is situated in an old coconut plantation and seven lakes, prepare your pallets for food inspired by its surroundings. Most of their cooking involves coconuts paired with their fresh water harvests. You can even have an upclose native cooking experience at the Casa like their local delicacy Kulawo. This dish has an unconventional technique to capture a unique smokey flavor of gata. Freshly grated coconut meat to be tossed with burning coal then the gata extraction. Mix the gata with garlic, onion, coconut vinegar plus salt and pepper to taste then pour over the grilled eggplant.
Casa San Pablo also offers culinary day tours with fun activities like shrimp catching in Lake Pandin and cook it back at the Casa. Or spend a night or two for a total culture and heritage experience.
